I'm interested in adding a new coil for my MXT. I have the standard 950 and it works great. I'm currently hunting "very hunted out" camp sites. With the MXT and the 950 I've found many bullets and several plates in areas where the experts tell me there is nothing left. Now I'm looking to go deeper. Would the new 14" DD be a logical choice or maybe the 18" Excelerator? Looking for pros and cons for both coils. I also do beach combing during the summer months. Any help would be greatly appreciated. HH Ron Z

Matter of fact, that IS the coil I go with when I want to work my MXT over some open areas for coverage and a little better depth.
If you have questions about some of the coils, you're welcome to shoot me an E-mail: MonteVB@comcast.net

I would go with the DD in relic trigger forward gain @ near max and dig all the high tones.

I'm going to have to agree with Toddy. In my opinion, the 14"DD is a great coil. For some reason, I have not had much luck with bigger Excelerators at all. With that being said, many folks love the Excelerators and it may have to do with what kind of soil you have where you are detecting. I am not really concerned with any increased depth with the larger coils, but I do enjoy the greater coverage offered. The 5" Excelerator/HotHead is truly an awesome little coil and works like a charm on the MXT.
