Which Coil To Buy?

I have an Ace 250 & I'm trying to decide between the Sniper coil or the bigger than standard coil. I hunt mostly properties and parks once in a while. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated! HH!!

I would suppose it would depend on how "trashy" the areas you hunt are. Highly trashy areas will give a bigger coil fits while the sniper coil is made for those types af areas. A larger coil covers more ground and MAY get better depth than a stock coil. The sniper coil allows you to get closer to metal fence posts, structures, etc....I know this reply to your post is probably not much help but hopefully it will give you some "food for thought". I too hunt a lot of older private properties and know that these can be loaded with nails along with other types of construction debris let alone what has been brought in with the fill dirt used level the lawns and what not. If it where me I'd opt for the sniper but ultimately it is your decision as it is your money that you are spending. Hope this helps.

I hunt here in middle Delaware, and my suggestion to you is to purchase the 10 by 14 Excellsior coil for the ace250.I have went over parks and school grounds and was amazed at what I had missed with the 5 by 9 and the 8 by 11 coils.I have found both coins and jewelery at depths of 14 inches. when using this coil I keep my sens at 4 bars and notch out everything to the left of the nickel It is quite amazing at the depth it gets.
