Which coil to buy for the MXT?

Bought the MXT that Folsom Don had for sale. Should be here early next week. I will use the stock coil now for the more open areas but need suggestions for a second smaller coil to use. I hunt mostly in schools and parks for coins and jewelry right now. A good pinpointing coil would be a plus too. Thanks :)

Bill, you got a great deal on that MXT. I saw it on the forum, glade to see some one bought it that will put it to good use.:clapping: As far as extra coils go, I personally like to use the 6X10 DD its on my machine 90% of the time. Now when I get into trashy areas I go with the 4.5X7 Ecelerator but the 4X6 DD and the 5.3 are also great coils. But I really would consider the 6X10 DD its a good all around coil for all soil conditions and I hunt allot of school yards and parks for coins and you can't beat the coil for gold.:whites::thumbup:

Yep, Yep, Yep, I've got to agree with Hillybilly Bob, Go with the 6x10 first and you won't go wrong, then go for a small coil, like the Excelerators in 4.5x7, 5" or 6" DDs sizes. Good luck with your new MXT. HH Dennis in Idaho

Checking a coil survey on another site 31% are using the stock 9.5 and 29% are using the 6x10. If I can use it, the 9.5 is deeper for me than the 6x10. I use the 8" excelerator a lot, its deeper than the 6x10 and separates better than the 9.5. I don't have the 6" excelerator because they didn't make it when I bought mine. I do have the 5" excelerator and it is great in the most trashy sites. Rob

I'm another fan of the 6X10. That said, I really love the 4X6 for HEAVY trash and pinpointing, and the 5.3 works pretty darn well too. If you can work one of each into the budget you'll really enhance the versatility of your machine. My two bits.
