Which Coil Should I Get?

Hotwire

New member
I have a Cibola that came with the 9X8 monolithic coil. I'm looking for a coil that is lighter in weight.
I'll be using my detector at a salt water beach in dry & wet sand specifically for jewelry hunting. I have used this detector in a salt water environment with "reasonable" success. What coil or coils would you suggest?

It would be hard to beat the stability and depth of that 9x8 and find something lighter. Not sure you can but I could be wrong. I use the 12x10 widescan at the beach but it is a bit heavier and noisier but I don't mind because of the additional coverage I get. Maybe look into the 8 inch doughnut. Good luck.

I have never hunted a salt water beach but if it was me and the beach was not trashy and no black sand lenses the stock would do fine if mineralized I would use the 5.75DD or the 10x12 DD that 8x 9 is very light

Either the Tesoro 5 x 10 DD coil or the NEL Sharpshooter coil. Both are light weight and work great!
