Which coil goes deeper?

Which coil goes deeper? I have a GTAX 1250 with a 8.5" crossfire II coil. I'm thinking about getting a new coil. Which should I get?
I have found three:
1. 10-Inch x 14-Inch Power DD Coil
2. 12.5-Inch Crossfire "II" Coil
3. 10-Inch Hot Head

I have a GTP 1350 and got really bored with the stock coil, although I have found plenty of coins and relics with it. I just wanted a different toy to play with I suppose.
I ordered a new 10-Inch x 14-Inch Power DD Coil and used it for the first time last week. Better get a bigger shovel, I found 22 cartridges 11" deep and coins even deeper. The only thing I don't like about it is, it can't tell a quarter from a pop cap, I most have dug 50 or so and my stock coil can show the difference.

All "DD" coils love pop cans and bottle caps....but they get the depth, especially in mineralized soil.

10 x 14 DD Coil- Great depth and sensitivity in higher mineralized soil. It will also get better depth then the stock coil.

12.5" Crossfire Coil - Better depth in non-mineralized soil, but doesn't fair so good in higher mineralized soil.

10" Hothead- An after market coil sold exclusively through Kellyco. I haven't used it, but BCD and/or Skillet have one and speak highly of it. It will probably go deeper then the stock coil, and maybe be a bit more stable then the 12.5" in mineralized soil.

The general rule of thumb is that diameter equals depth give or take an inch or so. The only advantage a DD has over any other coil of comparable size is being able to detect deeper in highly mineralized soil and cover more ground with its wedge shaped signal pattern. In normal soil it won't go any deeper than any other coil of the same size.

About the only advantage the Hothead has is its increased diameter over a stock coil. A factory coil of the same size will perform the same.

Plus they get expanded coverage with that narrow, wedge-shaped signal pattern. No need to overlap with that puppy.
