Which coil for the beach?

Going to Mexico soon and taking my Cibola along would a DD be my best choice for a coil and does it need to be factory tuned for it?

I've used the stock standard coil (9"x8") on the dry sand at beaches here in Australia, and got good depth and found coins others had missed. Whether you need a DD instead of concentric would depend on how mineralised
the sand is where you will be hunting. I know there are a few options in both concentric and DD coils, but you are limited to the ones which fit the Vaguero, Tejon and Lobo ST; that still gives you a pretty good range, even though you cant use the coils that fit the standard U max (e.g. Silver U max) models or the DeLeon or Cortez. Give your nearest dealer or Tesoro HO a call and see what they advise; you'll also be able to get comparative prices as well. Good Luck.

Don't know what Mexico beaches are like. On the east coats I tend to like larger than standard coils, although the standard coil is a very good one. Bigger covers more ground and target / trash density is usually not an issue at the beaches I've been to.
