Which coil better?

Hello!
I bought a V3i with 12 " Super coil instead of the standard coil.

The picture shows a 10inch coil which after reading the reviews before buying this I didnt want it so They sent me the supper 12inch instead.
Is this means that nominal coil worse than 12" ?
Thanks!

In most cases the stock D2 is the better choice, an exception is if you are hunting low mineralized ground or beaches. The DD/SEF style coils have proven themselves and is standard on all of the high end detectors.

The D2 is my most used coil for my hunting. I had a 12" but sold it because I didn't use it. Early in the production some D2 coils had a problem with nulling. This has long been solved. The D2 is my deepest Whites coil. Rob

If your soil is mild the Super 12 can get a bit deeper than the D2, but you will need to overlap your swings more than a D2 coil. It can also be difficult to maneuver the Super 12 in wooded areas, underbrush or corn fields where the stubble remains. The weight can also add a bit of stress to your shoulder and elbow.

It is not a bad coil though. It will serve you well if it the only one you own.
