Where's the report on the TDI on Gold Nuggets? Anyone??

Most of the discussion about the TDI has been between folks who don't hunt for nuggets often. If White's parceled out the 200 or so available units to dealers across the U.S. it's possible that very few have reached people who regularly nugget hunt. It's over 100 every day now in arizona and that might have something to do with it as well. Add to that the fact that most serious nuggget hunters already have Minelab PI's and probably haven't sprung for $1600 on a new largely unproven machine.

Having said all that, it's sort of strange that nobody in CA has chimed in. Wonder if Jimmy Sierra hasn't sold a couple of TDI's to goldseekers?

I can't give you a report on the TDI on nuggets, because I have mine here on Cape Cod, MA. Far from the nugget areas of the world.

I can tell you that they will not be a problem using them in Arizona or California nugget hunting. Gold hunters, and myself have been using the Goldscan 5, the parent circuit of the Whites Pulse Scan TDI for such about 3 years under those conditions. The TDI operates a lot like the Goldscan 5, so there shouldn't be any problems in that department.

What type of a report are you expecting ? Do they find gold nuggets, they certainly do, and there is no ground condition bad enough in the US that would affect it.

If there's something in particular you would like to ask about, send me out a PM or post it here.

Hi Mr Bill. To be honest there have never been any reliable reports on the Goldscan over here for nugget hunting. Never so much as even one write up in the Aussie Gold mag.
I know people use it for gold but they use other machines too, even old Gold Bugs and Gold Masters. There are a ton of people over here hanging out to know about what they can do and see one in action. Pity we still have to wait. I know different nugget shapes and gold types will/can dictate what depths they can be recovered from. Some , say, 10 grammers will pull in shallower than some more solid 5 gram bits and so on but there usually is an average typical depth that can be conveyed from serious "know their machine" users. For example you would expect to be able to get a 1 oz bit from at least 1 foot deep in our bad ground here in Victoria's Golden Triangle using a big coil on a GP.
Could the TDI be a hammer on specie gold and have a distinct advantage over others in that department? You know what Im getting at now I guess!
An MXT running the 5.3 Eclipse on reef gold is a killer for species containing small and fine gold concentrations, thats where its advantage lies over a Pulse machine.
Anyway, have a good one mate.

Well I certainly don't have any first hand info. from where you live. :)

I do know the Goldsca 5 works well there, handling the bad ground very easy, but this was learned second hand. My understanding that Whites has a few shops down there. If that's so, you will see the TDI soon.
