Well, he hasn't been posting for sometime now and a few people have asked me if I have heard from him.
Figured the reason might be the gophers, the ones he out there thinning the herd. Thought maybe they ganged up on Gunnar, took him out......

Then thought about it and checked his YouTube site and saw a new video.
Hmmm, made a new kiln......he's a master pottery maker, makes me wonder if he is finally getting back into pottery he had to give up a bunch of years ago.
If you could only see the quality of his work, fantastic!
I did pop him off an email, we'll see if he makes a posting. Told him to post some pottery pix.

Was just thinking about Gunner and not seen him of late, you must have read my mind :)

Well------Gunnar is VERY lethal on them thar gophers!-----He's moved up to AK 47's (or whatever you call 'em) in his war with the pesky critters!

He is around still, just doing other enjoyable and interesting things at the moment

say its me as you may know my mom has had cancer and i have been her helper along with my dad for the past 9 years that only allowed me very short periods of time to get out and do anything , detecting was one of those things you can go and do for an hour or so and its done, i used to do pottery and i have missed it dearly for the past 9 years . my mom passed away two days from her 50th anniversary of metistatic lung cancer the cigarette companies set the hook deep and they reaped a lot of money and i think just the hospital bills over 2 million its been a long hard battle you just have no idea what its like until you have to take care of someone make sure they get three meals a day on time meds on time then after each chemo its time to clean up the throw up and number 2 and its every day and doctor appointments in one way its a burden taken off and sad to see mom go but now i have some time to get back to making some pottery so thats what i have been doing one thing i could say if you smoke do your best to quit . also its been a badd summer for detecting hear hot and rainy. but i got all my detectors the bliss the mirage and the racer and my nice silver umax

Sorry to hear about your Mother. My thoughts are with you. Bad detecting summmer here, too. Hot, humid, yet very dry. Have a better autumn.

you deserve a million gold rings for that sacrifice , not many people can do what you have done , good you will be able to do some things for you now  life doesn't seem real fair sometimes but we soldier on hey and yes smoking is bad I quit about 6 months ago its a horrible addiction that targets the same brain receptors as heroin so its not so easy to quit, but I see no reason to ever smoke again.

hope you get out find some goodies soon.

AJ

It certainly is a labour of love, Gunnar, but it doesn't stop the grieving for the loss of your mother. My thoughts are with you. I guess your life is now renewed, and I hope that you can now enjoy your activities. Take care, Pete

Very sad to hear Gunnar, my wife feels the same, she knows all too well what you have gone thru.
Your a good man Gunnar with a big heart, That's why I have always considered you to be one of the nicest and most honest I have known.
Wishing you the best.

Hi Gunnar, I'm so sorry for your loss and hope you and your Dad can soon recover as best you can! Its tuff, really tuff! I, with the help of my wife went through my Mother's last 3 years with Pancreatic Cancer back in the early 70's, so I know how it is. I hope you will enjoy your Pottery now and I know you will! Its good therapy and comes in a time of much need. Hope you can get in some detecting too soon as you get some cool down. Been brutal hot and humid here in S. Ms. so I'm needing some cool down too. I'l be praying for you and your family Gunnar! HH, Charlie

I'm sorry for your loss. My mom passed away from breast and bone cancer last Thurs. She wasn't a smoker. She chose not to go with the doctors and was 81. I treated her herbs and other things. She was good till 3 weeks ago. And the pain kicked in and she was in great pain. She was blessed when her heart stopped in her sleep.
