is there any1 here that knows where i can find research info on OLD picnic areas or OLD parks in north central Pennsylvania. going out in the woods results in NOTHING but iron crap. id like 2 find some coins, silver coins. thanks much. Elk County
 
Local historical society, library, ebay postcards.
 
Our senior citizens are a great source for that kind of information, just be sure and treat them with dignity and respect. Also go online and search for those county historical societies which have their own "online" sites, they offer a wealth of information and photographs. Another surprising source for that kind of information is your local area high schools, some have their own "online" historical sites which are truly excellent. Smethport H.S. has one of the best I've ever seen, Austin H.S. has a good site on the flood which wiped out their town. Above all whenever you do find an online historical site, be sure and checkout any additional "links" that they have listed. These "links" will lead you to many, many other sites of a historical nature...
