My nine yearvold son wants to hunt for relics and such, but I have no idea where to start. He is equipped with a metal detector and a determination to find stuff. Can anyone tell me where to take him around Hamilton Ontario Canada

Thanks for anyy help

old picknic area, campground, beach, park, abandoned lots. Old hunting camps. Just about anywhere. Talk to the people that have lived there for ever. I dive in Ontario and have found relics.

If anyone knows a specific spot to start my son off at, it would be greatly appreciated near Hamilton Ontario Canada

If he just starting just go into your yard and dig every signal. Burying some coins so he'll know what a good signal is. He'll be better off learning his machine first where he can take his time and investigate each signal as to what it sounds like and how it registers on the machine. He can also practice his digging technique and filling his holes(very important) without worrying about the owner getting mad. A lot of people (kids & adults) will become discouraged because they see all the stuff people dig and wonder why they aren't finding stuff and just digging thrash. And the difference is that they never take the time to learn their machine. You/he might be surprised at what's in your own backyard. Good luck and Happy Hunting
