Where to set Disc. and Sensitivty on Excal II coin shooting

I've been working around old school yards and community centers. I'm having trouble trying to differentiate between pull tabs, bottle caps and coins. I'm spending a lot of time digging trash. I can set the discriminate all the way to 17 and only pick up copper , but miss silver coins. There's so much trash that all metal mode sounds like a vinella fudge concert. HELP!!

That's what I did with the Sovereign GT.

I tested everything from a silver half dime to a five dollar gold piece.

I went over each coin and ran up disc until it was knocked out then backed off the disc until I could pick it up again then I made a little mark with a fine point sharpie on the disc decal.

Now I know pretty well how far up I can turn the disc and still pick up silver and gold coins of various denominations.

I have some very old sites with lots of trash that do have lots of old coins too.

OK on my Excalibur11, i set mine 6 on discriminate and 3.5 on sensitivity and this seems to work well,i still get pull tabs and junk

i would think that the excal disc. works the same as the sovereign. you can run the disc. at full strength and still get all silver and indian heads.
