hello folks i just joined this forum today as you regs could tell. i am heading down to virginia beach next thursday and would like to know which beaches allow treasure hunting.i am not reallly much of a beach hunter but i have done pretty well here in upstate n.y. any info would be greatly appriciated thnx for your time. and i hope to get to know some of you soon thnx again:)

There are no restrictions at the Virginia Beach resort strip on detecting, so anywhere along the oceanfront is a good spot. I like the area between about 6th street and maybe about 25th the best. That said, the tourists have been gone all winter and if you watch the posts on here there has been VERY little found done there for a long time. It's picking up a little but the water is still cold and only the brave and the stupid are getting in right now, so don't expect too much.

Fortunately we have a HUGE re-seeding project coming up that will bring the gold, silver, and massive truckloads of coins back where it belongs...in the surf lane. Unfortunatley, that isn't going to help you. Plan another trip after the 4th of July.
