Where to get a rain jacket for Sovereign

Does anybody make them? I googled and couldn't find anything. Being in Oregon I better keep one ready.

The Minelab chest/hip mount bags (both the black and blue I think but for sure the blue, as I don't know if they are both the same?) can be put on the control box while it's still mounted on the shaft. They are designed for that. Don't know if they are waterproof but if you spray them with camp dry that comes in a spray bottle it's meant to waterproof cloth, boots, and even cardboard. I've used it on my hunting (deer hunting and such, not metal detecting) gear and it works great. Some old leather boots I have will keep my feet bone dry once I sprayed them with that stuff, even walking through wet tall grass or through puddles.

You can also just go the zip lock or loaf of bread bag route to keep it dry. I've done that on rainy says and it works great. I put a smaller one over my meter too. Or I've been thinking of using cling wrap as that stuff really sticks to it's self right where you put it.

By the way, there are a few pics of the blue and black Minelab bags in the Sovereign accessories sticky and I think pics of the blue bag protecting a GT still with the box on the shaft might be in either that sticky or at least I think are in the VDI meter sticky.

Yep, page 3 last message in the VDI meter sticky has pics of the blue bag covering the control box with the box still on the shaft.

I don't see why they wouldn't, but better you ask somebody who has tried to. I looked at the pics of the XS control box compared to the Elite/GTs in the model sticky and it's box doesn't seem any bigger or longer to me but no way I can judge by pictures so I'd wait to find out from somebody who should know for sure. If you also look in the Sovereign accesseries sticky there are pics of the old black minelab chest/hip mount bag and the new blue chest/hip mount bags. They both look the same to me but the color. I think somebody in that sticky might have chimed in and said both bags are the same as each other? If that's the case, then I bet the black bag was to match the black control box of older Sovereign models like yours maybe. All that being true and if both bags are the same then that would mean the blue one will work on your machine.

Like I said though, I'd wait to hear from somebody who knows for sure because I don't.

I'm a few days tardy, but thought I would reply. I have the black case/bag, and it is NOT rainproof. The one thing that makes me say this is it is open on the top so that the control box can still mount to the shaft. W/ the GT, I still platic baggie the control box before I put it in the case. I use a large thin plasic bag w/ the open end down where the coil cable connects. I poke a hole for the headphone cord. The black minelab bag has a fold down cover that rainproofs the headphone end. This way I con't have to worry about dropplets getting through the top where the bag is open to the shaft beneath the arm cuff. If you're gonna chest mount under a rain jacket, then there is no need for the plastic bag, but I find the strap digs into my neck too uncomfortably to chest mount.

Hey the strap will not dig in if you go to Auto Zone or some other car place and pick up a cushion that wraps around a car seat belt strap ....I'm sure you have seen them. They work great !!
