Where have I been for the last year?

Onus

New member
Some of you are probably wondering why I suddenly stopped posting last year and disappeared? NO?, Well I will tell you anyway! I woke up one morning and couldn't walk! I had extreme pain in my thighs and knees so my wife ran me over to the hospital ER where they said it was sciatica nerve damage. With some strong pain pills I was finsally able to get around a bit with the aid of a set of crutches. I went to 4 different bone and nerve so called "specialists" and they had no clue as to why I couldn't walk". I finally went to a rheumatologist who diagnosed it as worn out hip bones and sockets and sent me to an orthopedic surgeon who specialized in hip replacement. Apparently my hip bones and sockets were completely worn out due to some nonspecific damage over the years. l had both hips completely replaced with titanium balls and sockets. I felt relief the same day after my surgery and now I am able to get around with just the aid of a cane and don't have to use it all of the time. I had just bought a new ATPro when all of this started and never have got to hunt with it! I still am not allowed to bend or stoop past 90 degrees but the doctor said I could probably be back digging and prospecting in about another 3 months. Man it has been a long time since I have been able to do anything much, and I can hardly wait I'm raring to go, just need as little more patience to heal a little bit more and then get back at it. Glad you found a solution, take car and you'll be huntin' soon!

Obey the doctors orders to a tee and I am sure you will be back out hunting very soon! Take care! And HH!

Glad to see your nearly back in action...don't try to go too fast...listen to your body and when it tells you it's had enough...quit for the day...

HH,

Looking forward to hearing from you more in the future!!! take it easy and as they say becareful until its time to go out again. Looking forward to hearing more of your time away from us.

Glad to hear your on the mend and getting your mobility back:thumbup:

I work as a Registered Nurse on a hip & kne replacement unit. Kudos to you for getting the bilateral replacements. You bet  you will be out soon prospecting and detecting. You may have to build a couple of extentions for some of your tools, but it can be done. Work closely with your physiotherapist, and if you have access to an occupational therapist, explain to him/her what techniques will be required to retrieve your tagets. He/she will solves those issues so you can perform those duties safely. I equate occupational therapists with the TV series " MacGyver TV Show "

Good luck, welcome back  and if I can be of any assistance let me know. :)

Sounds like you are a candidate for a D.D. A Designated Digger.
Swing the coil from up above and let some hired hand do the excavating.
