Where do you buy magnets?

I am looking to buy some small magnets for my scoop so I don't continue to the same bobbie pins over & over again. I looked online and found some rare earth magnets I liked, but it appears you can only buy them in lots of 50 or 100. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Lowes or any hardware store has the cheap ones.... you are catching bobbie pins and bottle caps.... so you dont need an earth magnet.... go cheap because the cheap ones work just fine.

got an old computer hard drive? If so, and if your not going to use it, get the magnets out of it...

ask for dead hard drives. Take them apart and get all the rare earth magnets you want.

Go cheap & you can replace them every month or so. Get the KJ for about $4-5 and you get epoxy dipped and a hole in the center to bolt them to your scoop. Mine have lasted well over a year with constant use

I tryed the Earth Magnets and thy chip cozz thear so brittle, The Ceramic Magnets are better in the scoop??? Mickfin

You can get 10 asprin size rare earth magnets for $1.50 at Harbor Freight. I have them in my sand scoop and on my Sampson shovel. They work well and if I lose some it no big deal, they are 15 cents a piece.

I am a computer tech
Get a dead hard drive and use ty wraps to hold them in place at the bottom of the scoop after removing from hard drive.

I pull HD magnets and its a 10 minute job IF you know what you are doing AND if you have the right size Torx screw drivers. My local Radio Shack had no clue where to find a Torx that size. I found several in a local electronics store. Many HD magnets are epoxied in and it is not easy to get them loose without breaking them in the process. Trust me the $1.50 at HF is a much better deal than gutting 5 HDs for a little nicer magnet (flatter and wider). The aspirin magnets work fine. If they don't stick to your scoop, put one on each side or epoxy it in. I put some on my shovels to collect iron pieces/nails etc.

The Best magnet that I use for my scoop comes from an Old Microwave Oven. They are strong, but make sure you discharge the power supply. It might take 20 minutes to get them out of the Box. But worth it. .I put mine in a sealed Plastic Bag and use Zip ties( 4 ) to hold it in the scoop.goldnugget-Charlotte,N.C.
