where do I look for the difference between detectors

Hi:
I know you have been asked this before but I was leaning towards the Whites XL PRO but price is the factor.
Is there a big difference between the 5900 DI Pro and the 6000 Di pro.
I can afford the Di Pro's but where can I go to look up the difference between all three?
Thanks
David F

Electronically the difference between the 5900 and the other two is the 5900 has no auto ground balance.(Many prefer this setup for difficult and changing ground conditions.) I believe the main difference with the 6000 and XL... is the XL has the smaller, modern style housing?

Check out kellyco detectors. Once you click on a detector, you can choose another and it will put the stats next to eachother for comparison. I think that you can see the stats from 4 or 5 detectors at once, a pretty cool feature for comparing/contrasting.

As NW 1886 said below the 5900 has a manual ground balance and the 6000 has auto ground balance and ground tracking. I don't think the auto tracking on the 6000 series is that great and usually lock it once I have the balance set. I prefer a manual GB for finer adjustment for different ground conditions and hot rocks. If they would have brought out a 5900/ XL Pro I would be using it in place of the 6000/ XL Pro today.

thanks for the replies

I was watching ebay and saw a silver umax used in mint shape they were asking $199 and they had best offer on it,so I threw in a bid of $151.
I never thought I would get it for that price-it included shipping. I looked all over for silvers that were sold but couldn't find any to use as reference.
I won it but might sell it right away.
I don't have a detector right now so I had to get somethintg.
I was at a dealers shop last year and he had a 5900 that he let me try out.I had my eagle spectrum in for a bad coil which I replaced and ended up selling it.
I had the MXT also and ran both against each other.
I couldn't see anything the MXT could do that the eagle spectrum couldn't match.
Both are sold.
