[size=medium]Remember just a short while back that Florida sold out of all their metal detectors when the price of gold jumped over $2,000/oz?

What happened to all those machines? Did the people that bought them actually make their millions from finding all that free gold on the beach and then retire, or maybe move to Monte Carlo?

I don't recall seeing any of them posted on this forum or any others. Spooky isn't it? It's like they just all disappeared. :nopity:

If gold hit $2000 an oz I would have sold all of mine.. I think it was a little over a $1000 ;)

Gold $2,000 an ounce? I must have been asleep to miss that one! HH regards Nugget.:detecting:

I was thinking of Platinum at $2,000/oz. Right now Gold is $886/oz and Plat is $2006/oz

Many people try their hand at metal detecting and surf pirating is one of the most physically demanding forms of detecting, very few stick with it. It's to be expected that people will flock to the beach with metal detector in hand when you see a $1,000/oz. gold rush take place. Just like the Klondike days, most of these gold diggers leave quickly when they find out how much work it is to hunt for gold in the surf. Visions of nuggets (or rings for that matter0 lying on the ground, ripe for the picking fooled a lot of wantabe prospectors and now it's wantabe surf pirates.

Many are Called but Few are Chosen,
