Ya, I thought it was kind of pricey also. But did not want to cut my headphones. Bought a connector and was actually going to cut it. But changed my mind. Figured I could sell the headset if I decided not to use it in the future.
Or use them as backup headphones.

I'm wondering if this is a proprietory connector , or if someone else makes this connector ....I'm looking for both the headphone connector , and also the coil connector ..... If these are going to be the common price for these accesories , I'm just going to modify to a lses costly waterproof adapter .... ....At these prices , if you want to build your own rod and extend the coil cable , it will cost you $100 for a 3 ft extension !!.... .......Jim

From what I can understand these connectors are made for Garrett items so in theory Garretts are the only source for them, why not email them.

Alternatively just buy a set of Garrett Land Headphones for the AT Pro, Infinium, and Sea Hunter Mark II for $50 cut the tail off and put a female 1/4" jack on the end which will give you your adaptor for the Pro, then put a standard jack and cable on the phones you just bought and you can keep them as a spare for the Pro, remember you have an adaptor now, or any of your other detectors, alternatively sell them to someone who wants a set of phones.

Mac,
There wil be SO many people doing this that Garrett headphones will be selling for about $10 !!....... There's got to be a better way !!.....Yes, I will email them and see if I can get ONLY the connector , but if they made the connector a proprietary connnector , I think I can summize that there is a pretty good reason ...... I'm pretty inventive myself ....I'll figure something out .....Thanks, Jim

I can get it figured out but thought some had beat me to a supplier of the connectors. Just trying to save some time. I'll let you know if I can find the manufacturer of the connectors.

I could do that but that's not how I want it set up. I want a male and female cable connector to make a waterproof extension.
I have an inquiry into Garrett for the connectors. So we'll see if they have extras to sell?

Kenny
Keep us posted ..... I'll keep lookng from this end and keep you guys posted .....Thanks, Jim

" So many connectors , so little time !! "

I'm going blind looking !!....LOL !!...

I looked into it years ago to make a whip for my Infinium for my phones.

I had to get them from Garrett. The phones are two pin, the Coil cable is four.

True, best get them on the market as soon as possible then

Another option, and you may already be hinting at this, is to change the socket in the housing to a readily available type preferably waterproof, it kinda spoils your warranty though.

FS: Garrett Phones .....Connector got chopped off by Santa's sleigh !!.....Best Offer !!......:rofl: .....Jim

Sunny Jim,
Thanks for the info ...... Jim

Does anybody know where the pictures of the connector are on the forum ? .....I know somebody posted them but I forget which thread .....Thanks, Jim

I would almost bet these are the folks that make them.
http://www.ikelite.com/index.html

They make most good water proof connectors.

Garrett will sell you one I sent them a email think they said $19 plus shipping.
That is for the male end.

Just cut the one off the headphones not like I am ever going to use them again.
Then bought a waterproof set from them to use in the water.

Cut mine at the phones makes a good extintion to mount plug back at the arm cuff. Takes
Just a few min to cut it and add a plug from radio shack.
