Where are all the MX5 users?

Frank im stuck inside lol this darn winter here is ohio isnt letting me do any hunting. The mx5 for me is a keeper. Hope your having better luck with the weather.

I have one but below zero temps and around 2 foot of snow on the ground and it will probably be several weeks yet. Very excited about my MX5 as I'm mostly a coin hunter. Lots of positive features about it and priced very good. HH Joe

I am having a blast with mine now that the tone issue has been resolved. Found probably $20-25 in clad, 2 silver rings and a lapel pin. I have been enjoying trying the various tone options. Loving the depth! Can't wait for that first gold!

I didn't have the tone issue with mine. Been out having lots of fun with it. I got a good deal on a used v3i recently to try out and surprisingly the mx5 has a faster response time which is better in trash and for pinpointing. Depthwise they are pretty close but I would give the edge to the v3i if you take the time to adjust it for where you are hunting. If a target is under 6" the polar plot feature on the v3i will save you from digging a lot of trash.

Overall I think with its lighter weight and how easy to use it is I will probably turn around and sell the v3i and keep the mx5.
