Where are all the finds at? I see a few posts here and there but it seems more like Q & A for coil sizes and types. Anyway, I live on an Air Force base and have been hitting an "older" part of the base that used to be base housing back in the 1950's. It was torn down in the 80's because it was too close to the runway and was LOUD for the tenants of the housing units. I found 3 wheat cents today. I was using the stock coil this time and also used relic mode for the first time ( yeah I'm a nube). I have been using coin and jewelry mode since I bought the MXT in July but decided to try something new. I had gain set at +2, discrim set at 7 (a little high for my liking but the site is very trashy and I was mainly looking for coins anyway). I also found an old 12 Gauge shotgun casing which looked interesting because it appeared to be all brass. Have of it was corroded away. I brought it home to look it up to see if I could figure out about how old it was. As I was cleaning the mud out of it I noticed something inside of it. I dug the thing out of it and it was a 1959 penny. I guess that answered the question of how old it was. Anyway, I also dug about a half pound of trash, A live bullet ( glad I didn't hit it with my shovel ) and about $1.00 worth of older clad. I know there has to be some silver at this site, I just haven't found it yet. On other occasions, I have found other wheat cents, a 1937 buffalo, and a small silver ring. I won't bore you with pictures as I'm sure most of you have already found similar items, but I just wanted to say that I wish I would have used relic mode sooner. It is much easier identifying "good" targets in this mode because of the two tones. HH
