I had a jewelry streak like this last year just after I joined this forum. I think I'm on about 6 or 7 hunts in a row with a real nice keeper piece of jewelry or a silver coin. God had blessed me.

As for today's ring it hit on solid half dollar. I dug it and was almost sure it was silver but couldn't see a mark. When I got it cleaned up I saw half of an 875 mark so I would have to say Russian silver but maybe something else. Heavy. 8.31g. The mark is exactly at 12 o'clock in the photo and upside down. Very hard to see.

I'm 988 coins from 10,000 coins total with Garrett machines. That was starting 6/15/07. If I make it to 10,000 by 6/14 I am going to call it 10,000 coins in one year of detecting. I could have found a lot more coins this morning but I had enough detecting for the weekend.

Check out page 1 from my Garrett Ace 250 finds notebook. New refers to my new detector as opposed to my Tracker IV. This morning I hunted for 2 hours. I think I may me catching on.

Good luck out there, gang. One more post on that awful Coin Tumbling thread coming later today. I moved it to a different room this morning and forgot to turn back on before I went detecting out so 36 hours total tumbling will be around 1 pm.

Strange looking ring. Lots of clad.

I agree, Joel. It is strange looking. It tests positive for silver. Maybe it's something else but I still say it's a ring for now. Here is is cleaned up on my finger and also the best photo I could manage of the mark. Believe it or not it is comfortable to wear.
