Was able to hunt for a while longer after work today temperature was a lot more bearable mid 80's tried to hunt yesterday but it was just too hot 109 what a difference a day makes.Got out of work at 3:00 and was hunting by 3:15 the place I was hunting gave up a lot of clad last year about 15.00 in a couple of days. Today started slow some pennies and stuff nothing to exciting then as I was searching around a pine tree I saw the handle of two kitchen knives sticking out from under some leaves I left them there and figured I would let the first cop I see know about them. Wouldn't you know not a cop in sight usually they ride through this park on bikes, atv's or suv's as this area is well known for drunks and trouble makers. I continued hunting figuring one would show up eventually I worked my way over to to another tree line and about mid way through it the DeLeon rang out the TID said silver so I figured more clad I sure am glad this area is pretty rocky because when I popped the coin out of the ground I saw it was a Mercury dime! I didn't have one of the small containers I usually have with me when I am looking for old silver so I wrapped the Merc. in a five dollar bill and buried it in my pocket without even checking the date as it was covered in dirt. I figured I would move to the other side of the park maybe a cop will cruise that side when I got out of the tree line I saw a cop giving someone a ticket for something so I worked my way over there when he was done I told him about the knives and said I would meet him over there when he pulled them out of the their hiding place one was a large butcher knife the other a small cleaver. He thanked me and I gave him my business card and said if he ever needs someone with a detector give me a call. After that I called it a day not to bad a day either anyway here's the goods from today's hunt sorry for the long story Oh yeah the dime is a well worn 1941 glad it is worn because I did nick it a little
21 pennies
2 dimes
5 quarters
1 knife key chain
1 1941 Mercury dime

Nice silver dime! I found my first silver with the Deleon last weekend while visiting the in-laws near an old scout camp, a 1946 rosie!
