When would the new 10x12 spoked widescan 5-pin coil be available?

I'd like that coil on my Golden.

With the new release of the Outlaw that coil did get overlooked. I'd like to know a bit more about it. Weight, depth and price?????

There are going to be a bunch of them out there to be tested by individual users, since that particular coil is part of the Outlaw package deal.

Mike,
I was actually hoping that the 10x12 concentric was packaged with the Outlaw and not a 10x12 DD. I've got the 10x12 DD for the Cibola / Tejon and it is my least used coil by far. About the same depth as the standard coil, although the 10x12 DD does sweep more ground volume at reasonable depth. I've got a lot more use out of the cleansweep, the standard coil and the 5.75 inch concentric and am very seldom moved towards using the 10x12 DD.

What were your thoughts about it's potential utility?
Cheers,

Hi tvr, might be be something to do with different areas, for me the 10x12 DD gets me a couple more inch's of depth over stock coil.

tvr,

I'm all about ground coverage. Particularily, ground coverage at depth. That coil would probably give me 8 inches of coverage at the 6" depth mark. I've got the top three inches covered with the Cleansweep, but I'd like to scout a little deeper in some places that have a little more fill dirt, or the sod has been in place longer and the targets are buried deeper due to the mowings.

I'm wondering how it compares to the 11" round widescan. I used the 10x12 SEF and came to the conclusion that the 11" round will do the same thing at less than half the price of the SEF. Was getting ready to get another 11" round, but I've been putting it off and then this new coil showed up. Will the 10 x 12 spoked widescan outperform the 11" round widescan, or are they about the same? At the six inch depth mark, which one has the best ground coverage? Thats what I want to know.

I will put mine on my golden when I get it and see how I like it.

Mike,
I've got a couple of Tesoros that I'd like to test with the coils from the Outlaw...just to see......

Good point. With the clean sweep on the Tejon, it does 6 inches in most of the ground I hunt with it. That is mostly fairly mild ground, although there are some areas where the iron mineralization content gets pretty high. If you are getting around 3 inches with the cleansweep on the Golden, then I can see where you want to find as wide of a swath as you can that reaches a bit deeper without having to do 75% overlap of the coil diameter to cover an area like you may need to do to get good depth and coverage with the concentric.
