About 20 years ago, I was testing the then popular Anderson rods with a supposed silver load in the chamber. Someone had placed a gold ring in a tree for testing. The tip end of my rod was just a few inches from it when they crossed. After my eyes adjusted, I saw it right in front of me and was the brunt of jesting remarks the rest of the day.
