When will the Etrac2 come out ?

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on an Etrac, but it's been out now for almost 2.5 years, so I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on one only to have the Etrac2 come out a month later (I remember when the Explorer SE came out and then very shortly the original Etrac shortly thereafter)..

I know Minelab is pretty tight lipped about new releases, but there's usually a pulse on these things by those in the know.....is it worth waiting a bit

Thanks!

The Sovereign GT has fallen out of the advertising loop. So I figure it is going away as we currently know it. I really thought that the trigger was being pulled on something last fall when the Explorer SE Pro had a significant price drop. Either it was going away or a newer model was coming over the horizon. I've always thought of the E-trac as the next model of Explorer. (that's just my opinion)

Seems that the water detecting community has taken a liking to the PI detectors. Not sure if that is making a dent in the Excalibur sales or not, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Minelab step into the ring with something along those lines to fill the needs of the sovereign water detecting crowd.

It will be interesting to watch and see what lands in our lap.

I think minelab is on vacation after introducing the new gpx series and the Etrac... but who knows? It would have to be a phenominal machine to replace the Etrac, the Etrac is still retailing for the same price from its release. I think give'em some more time cause for the Etrac 2 to top its daddy, it will have to be rebuilt from the ground up w/ some extraordinary advances in technology and programming... not to mention the other fierce competition out there.

Think I'll just hang on to my Etrac and Sov for awhile, even if they come out with the latest greatest coin detector tomorrow...

I found Metal Detecting Happiness when I got my E-Trac.... does it get any better than this???
