WHEN WILL TESORO START SELLING WATER DETECTORS AGAIN

New member
I am new to Tesoro Brand Machines how long has the tigers been out of production and do you know if thy are coming out with new Models

i couldnt tell ya,but i would think they are working on something right now...i would think they would have to have at least one water machine on the market..

I am DYING for a Tesoro water/land unit! I hope they come out with one soon, as in the spring I AM going to buy something for water hunting, and TESORO has IMHO the best descriminating out there, which I use quite a bit (not at a very high setting, but often).
A waterproof Tejon would just about make me......ummmm.......well I won't say exactly what (here). he he he....
Gimme Gimme Gimme a light weight discriminator with dual disc, manual GB, HOT coils, good battery life, lifetime warranty!!!!
How 'bout it?

Just a speculation ... an opinion ... and a wild guess ... but ...

I think the reason the water machines were taken off the market was NOT primarily because of the connectors.
There has been plenty of time to fix that problem.
I think they are busy redesigning their water detectors from top to bottom.
A complete upgrade and overhaul.
Totally new water machines.

Why else would it take an entire engineering staff two years to design and produce a waterproof connector?
They could have just hard wired the coil and headphones like the other makers do and went on with their sales.
They know the new machines would sell like hot cakes making up for lost sales over these last two years.

Makes sense to me than not being able to fix a problem in two years.

All that I have to say is that if Tesoro comes out with something better then the Tiger Shark it will be a one great machine because the tiger Shark is a great machine. I use my Tiger Sharks in fresh water. And I own an Excal too. Willie nice ring find!

Best Regards,
Steve

Within the next few weeks the water machines will be back on the market. but will be hard wired with the 8 or 11" coil. So I guess the connector was a problem they can't resolve.--Wade

You just have to wonder though how much business they've lost already...I have been waiting over a year now to buy a new water detector, and am still waiting, but it's getting harder to just hold off from going another direction. Especially since Garrett came out with that AT Pro. I'm gonna give them one more summer I guess, but if they don't get something out by this fall I'll probably end up with another brand. :ranting: Which will suck as in my opinion Tesoro is the most customer friendly company out there. Course I said the same thing to myself last fall and then changed my mind and decided to wait after all. :lmfao:

I hope in the Process they moved the sensitivity to the outside of the control box. That would make the Stingray even more versatile on land. Also, imagine if they added tone id.

Die hard Tesoro users are waiting patiently for news about water machines. The Tiger Shark is worth waiting for. I have 2 of them, one for myself the other for my daughter. I also use an Excal, but prefer the Tiger Shark in fresh water. Hits nicely on chains and really hits good on gold and platinum.

It is worth the wait what ever happens. Newly designed machine or the same Tiger Shark, either way we win! No I don't work for them, nor have I ever even talked to them on the phone. I met the best dealer I have ever contacted, one of their dealers, Badger Detectors in Madison, Wisconsin. He wrote the field test for the Tiger Shark and probably knows that detector as good or better then anyone. To read it you can go to the Tesoro site. Here is the web address for the field test.

Its been about 2 years to long.:nopity:

Have you owned a Tiger Shark?

Steve

No Steve i have not ,but i do know there one of the best fresh water machines out there.
But Tesoro fumbled the ball big on this [SB REFERENCE] almost to a point of embarrassment.

That would be awesome. I really did like the Tiger Shark I used to own, but the sensitivity being in the box was my main complaint with it.
