When was E-TRAC Firmware Upgraded by Minelab?

Batch

Hello all!

First, my apologies for asking a question I feel sure has been answered/discussed at length in this very forum. I tried a few different searches but must not be using the magic word/phrase to pull up the answer I seek (and yes, I tried "please" and "thank you" <smile>).

After having sold all my equipment a few years ago (including an E-TRAC and a CTX3030), the dormant metal detecting "itch" has again flared up. I purchased a new E-TRAC a couple of weeks ago and my purchase has raised this question...when did the E-TRAC firmware change? Now I have ten (10) user presets available vs the previous 4. In fact, the included instruction manual still references 4, but the box notes "10 + 10" and the unit really does have them. As I browsed the menus, I also noticed a few other changes to the firmware. At least I THINK there are changes...my memory has failed me before...but I can't remember when that was!

Although this is mainly a "just curious" question, it does lead to this follow-up...have you experienced "E-TRACers" noted any performance improvements with this firmware change?

I thank you in advance for your patience with my inquiry.

I don't think minelab wants to do anything that would make the etrac have an improvement to it......wouldn't want to do that....especially if it means seeing the screen

I have been doing more reading/research/thinking and I realize I made a major mistake and showed myself to be less than the sharpest stick in the pile. There are only 4 pre-programmed Minelab MODES and 4 user programmable MODES. Somehow I mis-read, mis-remembered, and failed to pay attention. There are 10 preprogrammed Minelab PATTERNS and 10 user programmable PATTERNS (distinct from MODES). There ARE 10 PATTERNS of each type...hence the 10+10 on the box.

I apologize for any confusion I caused. I wondered why I never really got an answer to the post, a private message nor could I find anything in the forum over what I would assume would have been a huge deal.

Truly, I am sometimes not the sharpest stick in the pile. Thank you all for your patience.

Respectfully,

Dave

Dave,

No worries. Good luck with the E-trac.
