When turning on your Sov. GT do this? . . .

I got this tip from:
http://www.garysdetecting.co.uk/sovgt.htm

He stated: "When turning your machine on keep the coil at waist height for 10 seconds befor searching."

Is this true? Does the Sov. GT search and correct for electrical interference like the Explorer?

no need for That Tony , just turn it on and get down to business , ten seconds is a terrible thing to waste........

I used to do this with the Explorer II, not every time I started hunting but if I was getting interference. I always hated holding that thing up and waiting for it to cycle through. The GT only has a switch with two positions but I haven't had to change it, at least not yeat. I have my settings in place for the beaches I hunt and I just turn it on and go. No meters or probes, just the machine and the coil and me. But I'm just now starting to differentiate the sounds that certain objects make. For the beach, at least, that's how I prefer to hunt.
