When to perform a Master Reset?

akelley

New member
I was watching LA Diggers new Explorer youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lAnNpgkQWEc yesterday, where he's demonstrating the performance of his new SEF coil. He found that, with the new coil, his Explorer was behaving erratically and became unstable. He decided to perform a Master Reset and this resulted in the Explorer and the coil performing correctly. I'm an E-Trac user and I've got a SEF coil arriving any day now. I've never heard that a Master Reset was necessary when changing from the stock coil. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Furthermore when do you feel a Master Reset is in order?

Thanks
-Alex

I have the 12 x 10 sef,and from the time I got it I have not had many problems hunting with it...However.....I have had to Reset my E-trac a couple times when hunting near high voltage power lines,.................Thanks for the reminder here.....I thought it might have been my machine or software....Now I am pretty sure it was the E.M.I. ..........H.H.
