The early church lived in expectation of the imminent return of Christ, as do we, and rightfully so, but as Peter wrote, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Timothy does not leave any doubt we are living in the last days, as much and even more so than those living under the rule of Roman Empire in the early church.
But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.

When the disciples asked Christ “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?" he told them straight out. Mt. 24.
And he warned, you will be hated by all nations, many will fall away and betray and hate one another, many false prophets will rise up and lead many astray.

Here's what it comes down to CJM, how it was explained to me... anybody who has ever named a date, sold all their belongings and went up on top of a hillside to await the return of Christ, cut and pasted the headlines of the current day and twisted the scriptures to make them fit, entertained wild speculation of what may be, what might be... all these, every last one, have been frustrated by the power and the glory and the magnificience of God's plan. All of that is an idle and vain pursuit, a spinning of wheels and running in circles to no purpose.

It comes down to this, what would it matter, how would it change how you live if Christ's return was today or in another 1,000 years?

I ask you plain, what would your nation have amounted to, what would the world look like today, if the founding fathers and each subsequent generation that followed did what many in the church did in the 1970's, abandoning the hope and optimism and the faith of building towards a better future?

Goodness CJM... if you got oil in your lamp, man, keep it burning!

Mere human beings are wrong for we are all born sinners in need of a savior; But when we believe in Jesus as our Lord & Savior by believing Faith in Jesus, Who is God born in mankind's flesh but Perfect & without Sin; so He could die in our place on the cross for each of us as sinners who deserve death, while Jesus didn't as He was & is INNOCENT,who committed no Sin, we have God's Holy Spirit by baptism in water to show to the world we belong to Jesus & By Spiritual Baptism we belong to God as an adopted Jew into His Family!

We have Spitual understanding through Jesus & can know God & what He says & knows by his Holy Word & by His written commandments which we obey & do not sin willfully by loving God in the love Jesus indwelling our saved souls (spirits) because if we truly love Him WE WILL obey & if we do sin we should immediately say forgive me Father in Jesus' name & then we try our best by God's Spirit within giving us His power & strength to endure & overcome all things! I know Who God is & Who I am in Him by His Holy Spirit living within my spirit! Therefore, He Spiritually tells & informs us by His Spirit. the same as His Prophets of Old, for the whole Bible is Spiritually breathed to write The Books & Scriptures of the Bible in the Past, Present & Future!

God showed me by His Spirit within me & His Good Prophets that president Trump will be reelected This Year but because of LIES. Fraud & etc. it is a long fight for truth & righteousness to Win & it will! I don't Lie & I know when God's Spirit speaks & lets me & His Prophets know & speak the truth which His Spirit confirms several times before we tell it to a world of unbelievers & false Prophets who wouldnt know God's Truth if they heard it & so they haven't--It may take TIME (lots of it) But the Lies, Fraud & Deceit is coming into God's light by His truth exposing all EVIL portrayed by the enemies, Foreign & Domestic! I have faith that moves satan's evil mountain blocks out of the way, while it is apparent that too many don't! Absolutely CJM. I love that armor of God verse, read it again and take a good look at that sword you are thrashing around. The sword of the Spirit. And what is the spirit we've been given.... not fear, but power, love and a sound mind.

You betcha the devil is using politics. Don't matter what -ism it might be, don't matter what pretty packaging it's wrapped in... if at it's core it becomes rotten with hatred, greed and corruption, it will be used to those ends. You betcha that is true for socialism, communism, liberalism.... but hold on to your hat, it can hold true just the same for conservatism and nationalism.

And you betcha you fight the Devil with love. It was for love of freedom that many laid down their lives to defeat the Nazi's. It was for love of their fellow man that many were willing to risk their own lives to hide their Jewish neighbours.

John 15 lays it down pretty clear about love and hate and kinda sums it up in this. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love. 1 John, pulls no punches on it... If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar...

I don't doubt there may be 33,000 so called christian denominations in this world. Heard tell, there are some 7 billion people now yet each one is a snowflake, each one with a different set of fingerprints. And God loves each and every one of them so much so, he offered up his only son to die so that they might not perish.
