When Larry Said He Was Going Hunting..................

He didn't think he would fill his pouch with this type of treasure! He called and asked if I wanted to come join him. By then he had already found most of them, so I didn't meet up with him. I cleaned all and then cooked about half of them to go along with our meal. Boy oh boy, they were good!!!! After dinner we headed to the mushroom spot and picked half again as much. Tomorrow we'll be there again off and on and see if there's any more. They were popping up while we were standing there. Oh, he did come home with a 52 Rosie, but it doesn't stand up to the mighty Moral's.

Hope others had a chance to get out and hunt today. Thanks for looking and HH to all, Nancy

Nancy don't eat them, they are poisonous. Pack in dry ice and ship them to me IMMEDIATELY and I will dispose of them. LOL HH Dennis in Idaho

Wow!!!! :surprised:

I haven't seen MORELS since I left the Ozarks!!! We were so dirt poor we thought they were trash food, but now I'd give my &%$#@* for a few sauteed in butter!! Folks who don't live where they grow just can't imagine what a mushroom IS SUPPOSED to taste like!! :clapping: Those who have only had the supermarket kind can't have a clue!

Thanks, Nancy!! This certainly made my day!

Hey! I tried that already....she's onto us!

LOL....good one Dennis. Sorry, too late. I did individually freeze the rest if you guys are ever in the area, but they can't wait too long. We don't find many Grey Morals around here and specially this big. Can't wait for the Yellow Morals to pop out. Now there's some good eating!!! HH to all.....no matter what it is, Nancy

Wow!

I don't eat 'em, but they grow around here...um...soon...actually along an old railroad track that is long gone now and is a block from the house here. The tracks & ties are gone and I hike up there, more like in the woods it is. Nice place. Anyone for Morels and date nails? :detecting:

Hi Dave, How's that MXT doing? I see you've got a coin count for 2008. GOOD GOING!!!!! We will love to see the numbers rise. :yikes:

You don't eat the Morals? OH MY!!! They're so good. Where are you from, if I may ask? HH to all, Nancy

Hi Nancy,

Thanks, and yes so far so good with the MXT. Still learning for sure! The coin count is from a little hunt last weekend, in a couple of sandy volleyball courts in a park in Faribault, MN. Kind of neat....I hunted them last fall (late) with the BH detector. Don't think they were re-seeded during the winter, so I think the MXT found stuff I missed. Everything was 5-6 inches, right where sand ended and clay began. Sorry for no pics; I didn't post them, figuring everyone had seen their share of clad. One thing that was cool though...of all the coins, I found every denomination (except for $.50 & $1), and, copper Lincolns and ZLincolns. The MXT ID'ed them exactly.

Last year, with the BH, I found 13 nickels total. Found two so far with the MXT. The Alternate Search is showing its stuff.

Nope. Sorry....always hated mushrooms even as a kid. Thought they always tasted like dirt (no offense)

I am located in the booming Metropolis of Waterville, Minnesota (pop 1833, including pets). About 60 miles South of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Between Faribault, MN and Mankato,MN about halfway along MN Highway 60.

HH all,

Dave
