I spend a lot of hours in my decoy carving shop. Have been carving working and decorative decoys since 1981. Thanks for looking. TomB

Man you have a great gift there. That takes alot of patients.

I used tupelo for some time but the cost has gone out the window. I now use basswood, its not cheap but less than tupelo . The female mallard is carved from sugar pine. TomB

Thanks ridgerunner...some take several weeks while others take several months. I usually have three or four going at about the same time. When I get tired working on one I change to another. I also carve fish and shore birds. Tom

WOW

Nice work Tom, I especially like the woodcock.

Nice work, Great Detail! Its been years since I been fowling!

You really have an eye. Very nice work, thanks for sharing.

Thanks everyone...and Happy Thanksgiving...TomB

TomB has a great gift! The pictures don't do his decoys Justice.Didn't know he had posted here but wanted to share something with everyone. The female mallard was finished and given to my wife and me! What a great gift! He's also a great digging buddy, teacher and we feel lucky to have such a caring person in our lives! Merry Christmas to All and HH

Smitty....thank you buddy. Tom

Good stuff Tom! That woodcock is slick, we would love to see a closer view of him! Is the oak leaf carved also?

Yes the oak leaves are also carved. As you can see I haven't had time to paint them in fall colors. When finished it will be attached to the oak base. TomB

Love the decoys. My most cherished inheritance were the decoys I was gifted by my Grandfather.

God Bless!

Your Carvings Are Fantastic! Wow! I do a little custom engraving myself, in the off season, and I sure appreciate good work like yours! Wonderful work!
