when is garrett going to come out with a multiple vlf machine

Nobody will know of any Garrett release until just days before it's ready to go. Having read how they feel about the futility of such things, I'm pretty sure Garrett will never make a multi-freq rig.

What aspect of multi-frequency machines do you think would do better than Garrett's single frequency machines?

i dont know ... how to explain i see other brands having one .. just makes me want to know why ...they dont have one ... there one of the top of the lines right so that why i ask ..

Isn't Whites V3 a multiple Frequency machine?

Think minelab has the patent on that. Whites had to pay them to use it if I am not mistaken. May be I am wrong not 100% sure.

Like most other enhancements multi-frequency has a place. Salt water beaches for one.

White's doesn't pay Minelab for anything. The technology is completely different. Minelab uses Time Domain while White's uses Frequency Domain if I remember right. Both have a place like most other features/options.

Garrett would need to come up with their own multi-frequency design or pay for someone else's.

Garrett should do a multiple or dual freq machine that is adjustable...like, menu adjustment buttons to active the adjustments and pick which ever freq you want on the first one, then the same for the second or third freq...etc. Now that would be cool.

Had read somewhere where Carl from whites had said they had to pay for something to do with the multiple freq maybe on the DFX.

They might be paying Fisher for using similar multifrequency technology as the the Fisher CZ machines. Dave Johnson designed the CZs when he worked for the old Fisher, then he worked for Whites for a bit and designed the multifrequency part of the DFX. He also designed the MXT before he moved over to First Texas turned them into a quality manufacturer. Anyway I bet he borrowed from his CZ designs for the DFX.

If I remember right, the same suggestions that White's, or any other detector manufacturer, was paying the other for using their technology was bogus. I'm thinking Carl laughed at the idea. I could be wrong I'm going off of memory and I'm getting old.

I do remember the outcome of the "White's DFX was using technology from Minelab" and the answer, from White's was that they don't even use the same technology. It was stated that Minelab is a time domain system and the White's uses frequency domain. Not even the same technology.

Now I wouldn't be a bit surprised if all manufactures don't pay a little for their basic detector technology, which wasn't even invented by a detector manufacturer, but I highly doubt any one is paying the other for using their technology.
