When do you use noise cancellation?

Do you use it before every hunt?

Or only if it is noisy in the area you want to hunt?

I do it at the start of each hunt

some say they believe certain channels go deeper or are better for silver, bla bla bla,,, they also claim slightly different numbers with certain channels,,,, so I'm gullable and heard channel 2 is good for deep silver so sometimes I pick that one,,,,, but if I get noise or emi I let it find it's own,,, part of me says let the engineers at ML work their magic and pick the channel for you then superstitions kick in and I go back to number 2,,, I have not found a noticeable difference in any of them,,,,, good luck

Before each hunt and if things get chatty as I move through a hunt. Sometimes I'm around power lines and as I move nearer to them it can help compared to where I was an hour ago. I have also noticed I get different numbers when on the beach compared to an inland location.

I always noise cancel before the start of each hunt.----If I'm finding some deep silver (or shallow), I don't mess with it--I'm not about to change it.------On the other hand, there has been a few times when I was on a "dry" (boring) hunt and I cycled the noise cancel and IMMEDIATELY found deep silver in the very area I had been hunting.---Coincidence?--Maybe, I dunno!------Generally speaking, if I'm not finding anything for an extended period of time---I periodically do a noise cancel.--------Del

Same here, if I am gonna take the time to hunt and dig I need to be sure that my Etrac is working as best it can. If I didn't NC I would be wondering if I am reaching as deep as I can.
