Wheat penny readings???

Tones first--tones first--tones first-----that's what Goes4 is saying (and he's right)!-----Sounds come first, ALWAYS!----Sometimes I think these things shouldn't even have a screen---just tones & maybe a depth gauge.

My E-trac only comes off the "fast on, trash high, ground difficult" settings at the beach so I forget that this changes the numbers sometimes and should be considered.

My only SLQ and last WLH both came in like wheat pennies. The SLQ (no date) had a wheat cent adhered to it with corrosion. The WLH must have been in junk.

I read this and just laugh out loud.....seriously people QUIT paying so much attention to numbers.....do you really think all good targets ONLY come in at the 12 or even the 11 FE line????

Ditto!

If you pass up anything along the 12Fe line +/- 4Fe, it is the high percentage good non-ferrous, so why would anyone do that (which was my point)

I would treat FE 18 to 1 the same. If it says 6-46 I think quarter first, half dollar, second, and can lid third. 8-44 and I am thinking merc, memorial. 7-13 would be a nickel... 1-38 tends to be a 2 inch long chunk of copper pipe, which I keep for my copper bucket.

You NEED to really pay attention to the TONE of the signal, when you learn to hunt with your ears, you will dig much, much more good stuff.

Trust me on this one, and learn to let your ears tell you when to dig not the numbers on your etrac screen

What ears? I do not have the ear for discerning subtle differences. VDI is it for me.

if you really read this and laughed out load, you have issues, just saying

yes I laughed out LOUD.....and now I am laughing at your statement too! I do have issues, and that is learning my etrac well, and helping others in ANY WAY possible that I can to learn to better use their etrac as well.......that is my issue! :clapping:

No need for comments like yours here Gus, it is clear your trying to stir the pot and get people stirred up.....this is a friendly discussion and your comments are providing nothing positive.
