I have found a few "wheaties" in the last 2 years. I'm sure most have found a whole batch of them.
While they're cool to find, and can indicate you are looking in the right area, what does everybody do with them? I figure they're too good to throw in with the clad, but I realize that's about all they are worth. The ones I have dug are in poor condition, so a collector would not be interested.

Good question Scott. I would first clean them up and double check the dates. There are a few "key dates" in the wheaty family that bring a nice premium. Last month I found in my collection a 1931-S that I didn't even know I had. Now if that don't beat the pant's off me, he he! Other than that, I just keep them or you could give them away to small children, that will draw a smile on their faces.

I've always just kept them as well when I found one, even before I started MD. I just put them in a container, even though I'll most likely never do anything special w/them. They ARE sure hard to clean though.

even a common date wheatie will go for 2 cents.
