What's Your Weirdest Way of Finding Something?

One day me and my friend were at Taco Bell for a late night run. We drove up to the pay window and paid for our food. I look on the ground and we both joke "if that's a silver dime I'll give you 10 dollars". Well I think the silver gods were smiling as I picked up a 1947 Roosevelt off the ground.
Since then we have not skipped picking up coins from the drive thru

a silver quarter lying on the ground and shining brightly in the sunlight....anyone could have found it as it sure wasn't hidden! Also, one time in a park, I heard a signal under a tree and when I removed the grass and leaves that covered the coin...it was a silver quarter and then during a club hunt in the same park, I found a kid's Dino change purse that opens up when squeezed and there were quarters and silver dimes (I think a total of 21 coins) but no rings that someone had lost while detecting! Found out later that it was an old guy who detected in the parks all the time!

These all made my day and happy to be outdoors and finding some of the good stuff! People lose coins and many things and even detectorists who are detecting for the same! I also eye-balled a silver earring in the hospital parking lot, quarter size and had scratches after being run over several times! It was shining brightly when I found it, so I guess most people thought it was just junk and didn't pick it up! God is good and I sure wish I could get out and go :detecting: again but my illnesses keep me from doing so!  Ma

I drilled a hole in the side (45 degrees down from the top) of the 18 sewer main, to hook the new 4 inch line into. I looked down into the flowing sewer line and spotted a shiney 1952 dime. Yep, I reached in and got it. Contest?  Like you guys couldn't see this response coming from me. Plumbing is as plumbing does. :D DC
