I own the CZ 3d, the CZ 5, the CZ 70 and the ID Edge.
I have owned and used other detectors.
The sites that I hunt, I use a small coil more than the 8" coil.
I hunt with 1 to 2 others that use a CZ, thats why the Edge for those lots that are not very big.
The house lots that I hunt, the house is torn down and bladed, their is a lot of rusty nails and trash.
It all comes down to how well you know your detector, like where does a V nickel read, where does a Indian head read, and war nickels.
I have seen 2 Barber dimes read in the Zink zone on 3 detectors,in the ground and out of the ground, a CZ 5,CZ 6a and a ID Classic.
If you are hunting for old coins, the 3d will help, but when I am using my CZ 5 or CZ 70, then I dig anything above iron.
The CZ's will go deep and give a good ID in our soil. Here the GB is like 4.5 to 5.5.
With the 5" coil on my 3d and sens at 3.5, I can hit a 9" coin..
The Edge and 6" coil needs sens at 9 to see the same coin..
I some times hunt with 2 others, one uses a old A.H. pro backpacker and a old 1260x and his son uses a 1265x, no meters, and they dig a lot of targets and they have a lot of good coins, and I mean a lot. The more holes that you dig, the better chance you have of finding something good. They just laugh at meters..
Back to the CZ 3d, I have heard that at the last, Fisher sold a lot of 3D's that were not set right, so a tune up makes a difference, it did for me and a friend.
