whats your favorite pi machine, a whites surf pi, head hunter pi, Garrett sea hunter 2, or a Tesoro Sand Shark?

I own the hh pi, and sea hunter 2 curious about the sand shark

any ideas please do tell, thanks.

My favorite is the Sea Hunter Mark II with the Infinium LS a close second !!

Put the 10X14 Mono coils on them and get ready to dig DEEP !!!

I use the Dual Field its deep and one who gets good with it can discriminate by ear... my hunting partner uses the Headhunter PI...

Craig Im starting to use my dual field more and more. In your opinion, better to pole mount the control housing hipmount it? Ive been reading clives book and he indicates the cables on them are coaxial and sharp turns are not good for them? I see he hipmounts his, mine is on the back of the pole now.
Honestly I havent seen any depth increase over my Excal or Sov (when I hunt them in all metal), but Im trying to pay closer attention to the threshold sounds, pretty much what you have to do with the Excal/Sov also. In all fairness Ive got way more time in on the minelabs but want to learn the pulse units also.
Thanks,
Neil

It takes time to learn the DF... not so much as a learning curve but listening for the "in threshold" whispers... the spot I am hunting now my GT will not even peep over some of my recent gold finds... don't get me wrong the GT is deep but the Excal/GT is no match for a quality PI machine... A in threshold whisper can and will be missed by many new users until they become one with the DF... many will pass it off as chatter... some of the deepest whispers are like a blank spot, a drop out in the threshold but its repeatable.. I pole mount mine... under my arm... down the road I will get a straight shaft for it...

I started with a PI PRO, then purchased a Excal to see what I was missing... I sold the Excal as it was no where near as deep as my pulse then I purchased the DF... I then purchased a GT and it is my iron infested wet sand go to machine but clean wet sand and the water its DF time....

Bottom line proof is in the finds and the coil has to go over the target ;) I tell everyone who asks.. patience and listening to the threshold are important...

I used to run the DF gain at 3 pm and the pulse delay just clicked out of factory... I now run at 2 pm with the delay just clicked past factory it really smooths out the threshold better... too much chatter and you won't hear the in threshold breaks...

I have my new Sand Shark on order. Rusty in Prescott, tells me I should have it Mid-April. This will be my first dedicated beach machine. I have been using the Minelab GPX 4000 and 4500 in the goldfields of Arizona for years, so this should be a lot of fun! I'll let you know! - Terry

DF....Although I have not used any other PI units. Have used teh Excal and the DF kills it. Especially the coil. The Excal coil connot compete with the DF coil.

Well I am going to say the Sea Hunter II but I am biased because that is the only pi I own or have ever used. It is however a no nonsense, easy to use pi detector. I have it set up in diver mode and use it in freshwater swimming areas with my hookah. I use my Excal for all other beach/water hunting and tried it as a diver but honestly the Sea Hunter is louder and overcomes the bubble noises of the regulator better and will find the tiniest pieces of metal, a headache on shore or beach, but just what I want out in the water where the recovery is easy and I KNOW I am not going to miss anything with it. It gets 14" on a dime size target easily. So while I can't speak about the others for this one application I definetly love the Sea Hunter.

Iv tried PI,s from, Whites DF / Tesoro Sand Shark and the Perona and the Detector Pro PI, But the Garrett Sea Hunter yes BootyHunter it is a little loud
I use the land H/Ps thay have a volume, I hunt the swim Holes chest hi, I hunt with Lake Hunter yes hes used the infentum,
But we Like the Sea Hunter out of im all, Its just easy to learn, I Like the Descret mode, Though everybody Likes the PI thy use and thats ok too but??
You have to use more thine one PI to post on this thread??? Mickfin
