What's your favorite, mode, tones, and coil on F75?

Just curious to see if there is a consensus on the settings and coils everyone likes to use for Relics and for Coin shooting. I'm sure this subject has been broached before many times but it is something interesting to talk about, maybe not , I'm bored. Also do you think 1N is the same as discriminating up to 15 or is it different?

I run both my f75's disc 6
Tones 3h
Notch just below nickel
Boost
And run as hot as I can. Very seldomly change the settings. So I can't be more specific. There both put away for the winter. So my deteriorating mind won't let me remember lol.. hhrickinmi

  • Freq shift to F1 always stabilizes mine.
  • The F75 likes a brisk sweep speed. If you can't learn the proper sweep speed you might as well leave it in Boost mode all the time. Boost or Cache modes are the only modes that tolerate a slow sweep speed. When I watch YouTube videos of the F75 and I see them using a slow sweep speed in any mode but Boost or Cache I know they ain't got a clue about how it works and I am wasting my time watching it. Both target id and depth suffer using the wrong sweep speed.
  • The stock coil and FA (fast) mode works best with maximum sensitivity settings and 3 or 4 tone mode. Again...use a brisk sweep speed. You will be amazed at what it lights up in the iron trash.
That's a start.

Coinspader,
1N mutes the audio response of iron but the display will still show the target id numbers for iron. Discriminating up to 15 also mutes the iron audio but it also eliminates the display of the target id numbers.

Je mode 2f tones disc 4 sens 90. 5 inch coil is without a doubt better in heavy iron. Otherwise Ive done well with every coil I have ever put on it.

Motion all metal mode. SuperFly 11" round coil. If you are farm field or woods hunting...there's still not a vlf machine produced to date that can beat it for depth. I've had them all and compared them all in the field and not just in a test garden.

Its been many years and have sold the F75 but I just loved the 5 X 7 NEL coil. The pinpointing was spot on. Check with Woodbutcher, I sold him the coil.

Cant remember all the settings but for coin shooting, I think I cranked the discrimination up to 75, and notched in nickels. If memory serves me correct,
nickels would bounce between 28-30 and pull tables 30-31. I do remember finding 1 gold ring, crackling at 28 ish. Killer machine on coins. Only sold because I killed my shoulder
swinging heavy machines all these years. Loved the F75.
