What's your favorite lens?

If your using a digital camera with interchangeable lenses, do you have two favorites?
Which do you use most for what purpose?

At the moment i only plan on using one lens on my Nikon, its the 55-200mm which i think will cover most of my needs,i am planning on keeping it simple, very much like using a Tesoro Compadre rather than a Blisstool   still not had any decent weather for a few weeks so not had much time to use the camera really.

Right now I only use the glas what comes in the kit with the cam. It's a 1:3,5-5,6 18-55mm.
But I'm searching for a 18-200mm or 17-250mm.
Think a 50-300mm will be nice, too, but it is NOT a must have.
One big advantage of the cam is that the anti shake reduction is in the cam.
So this will keep lenses cost low, I think.

Two favorite lenses: vintage Tokina 28-70mm F2.8 zoom lens and vintage Minolta MD Rokkor-X 75-200mm F 4.5 zoom lens. I only use old, vintage lenses, and really enjoy using all of them. Kelley (Texas) :)

My favorite Lens is the one that I have on my, camera at the time and most of the time its a
D 200 with the 18 to 200 and my D 7000 with another 18 to 200mm lens, and a 80 to 400mm just in case I need longer reach...
How many is to many cameras and lenses ???
And you ask, why 2 of the same lens,,, well, they were on the cameras when I bought them...

That is a much tougher question (for me anyway) than I would have thought.

I own somewhere around 30 lenses and use all of them; each lens has its own purpose and becomes my favorite when it is needed for the job.

In general I like primes and try to use them whenever they will do the job at hand. I do have zoom lenses that I use: a 50-135 f2.8 for portrait work, a 10-20mm for architecture work, and a 70-200 f2.8 for sports.

It all comes down to what I'm shooting and which lens will best do the job required.

I am still deciding.
On my Olympus E-pl3 Micro 4/3 I have been using the Oly 50mm macro lens for small items close-ups. haven't used it much for anything else yet.
Beautiful lens.

I have two Oly kit zoom lenses that came with my E-pl1 14-42mm and 40-150mm f3.5-6. I don't really have any complaints about them. But, after lots of reading and comparing,
they are not highly regarded. So guys opt to switch the lenses out for the current version Panasonic equivalents Funny thing pictures posted at https://www.mu-43.com/forums/native-lens-sample-image-showcase.80/ with the Oly older 14-42 and the newer RII lenses look pretty good. Then when you look at the Panasonic lenses, the pictures taken look even better. Then guys say the Pana 14-45 is better than the Pana 14-42 lenses and guys say the newer Pana "II" versions are just as good.

I would like a focal length zoom lens of 12mm-42mm, just way too expensive, not paying $600-1000 for a lens.

There was a good alternative Pana 12-32mm zoom that is affordable, kind of leaning towards one for the 12mm side. But, it doesn't have manual focus option.

Picked up a used Oly E-pl5 with the two newer R II kit lenses, when they get here, I will at least compare the older and the newer lenses and see what I think.
Can't pass up a good deal when they crop up.

I might just be happy with the 14-42mm zoom, sure like the 12mm side. Might just swing for the Pana 12-32

Guess buying lenses is like buying a search coil for a detector, you need more than one.

Had loads of lenses for slr's in the past and my favourite was an olympus 50mm zuiko lens.Pin sharp and fast I took some of my best photos with this lens mounted to an old om1 and om2.
Nowdays,i use a panasonic bridge camera with a 25-600mm lens. The lens is made by leica and used in the right conditions it takes stunning photos, better than most of the kit lenses supplied with slr's etc these days.
Due to it's quality, fast aperture and huge zoom range,i consider it as my favourite all time lens......easily capable of outgunning most standard kit lenses out there.

Still is BJ.........still the best bridge camera for versatility in my very humble opinion. There are bridge cameras with bigger sensors but you loose the zoom range, the fz200 does everything well.

My favorites for my Nikon D90 are an 18 200VR and a 70-300VR. The 18 200 stays on the camera most of the time for general use.I like the 70 - 300 for shooting water fowl and birds, grand kids sports and trips to the airport were my son works. (see examples at link below)
