Whats your average SENS setting on the Xterra 70?

Depends on the type of soil you are walking over.
I have a site in the bush where sensitivity is stable
at 28-30. But in some hot/heavy mineralised ground in the
goldfields I struggle for stability at 20. I suggest you read BT's
or Diggers posts in FAQ FAQ both great reading.

I usually have to run mine between 16 - 21, due the the heavy red clay soil around here.

Donny, If you can run yours at 23 - 27, and it's stable, that's great! Stable being the key word!! It doesn't matter what the numbers are. They are just numbers! Different soils and different users have different preferences. I have found in my area that I can run the sensitivity higher on the lower frequency coils than I can the 18.75 kHz coils. Simply design characteristics. Kind of like the optimized GB will be different for concentrics than it is for a similar sized DD coil. The main thing to remember is, after you have ground balanced for a specific site, set the sensitivity as high as it can be set, while maintaining stability. And it sounds like you are doing that!
