I JUST BOUGHT A BOUNTY HUNTER QUICK DRAW, I READ THE INSTRUCTIONS AS BEST I COULD. WENT OUT TO MY YARD AND THE THING STARTED MAKING SIGNALS ETC,, BUT EVERYTIME I DUG, THERE WAS NOTHING, SEEMED LIKE UNIT WAS PICKING UP EVERYTHING,BUT NOTHING WAS TO BE FOUND. IF IM LOOKING FOR COINS AND JEWELRY,, WHAT SETTING SHOULD I USE? I TRIED EVERYTING I COULD THINK OF, THANKS

I would suggest starting off in the auto notch mode with sensitivity set between 10:00 and 12:00 and discrimination set at the disc indicator. As you get signals, you can adjust the discrimination. You may also have a very mineralized area near your home and this sometimes can give off bad signals. Also look for power lines above and below the ground, these can cause interference.

Yes. Exactly what he said. Lower the sensitivity. Its too high.
Any machine, BH,Garrett,MXT, they will all give bogus readings if the
sensitivity is set too high.

I have posted previously, and sent numerous emails to First Texas asking them to update their manuals...There are 2 known obvious flaws in the manual...First, when you turn on your detector, your NOT in All-Metals mode...your in DISC mode...Second, you can usually never turn the SENS to 3 o'clock position in anything but NO Motion All-Metals mode without getting constant false signals...I keep my SENS around noon...sometimes as low as 9 o'clock (still get about 6 inches on coppers). To start, hunt in DISC mode with the DISC knob all the way counter-clockwise and the SENS at noon (if you still get false signals, turn SENS to 9'o'clock)...You can also hunt in a Notch mode with the same DISC and SENS settings. Dig every signal you hear to start, until you get used to the sounds and readings each type of metal produces from the machine...Hope this helps.
