What's wrong with----

D&P-OR

Well-known member
just putting the 5.75 widescan coil on the Tejon and useing it just like that (with that coil on board) almost all the time?----My soil is pretty highly mineralized where I hunt anyway (can't use a concentric).-----I realize I'm giveing up some coverage (due to the size of the coil).----Am I actually giveing up THAT much depth (compared to say the 8.5" widescan)?----I would be getting better target seperation characteristics & much of the areas I hunt in has mucho trash (along with the mineralization).----I might just set the Tejon up that way and designate it for that kind of hunter.----Am I/does this make any sense?? --------Del

There seem to be a lot of folks who use either of the 5.75 coils pretty well exclusively on their Tesoros.

I had the 8.5 widescan coil and wasnt impressed with its performance compared to the 5.75 ws. If you are concerned about coverage compared to the 8x9 concentric ....dont. The area coverage is virtually the same for coin sized objects.
