what's up with this IH?

went out to my local "field/woods" this morning for a quick hunt...found a bunch of rusty iron, 3 wheats, and 3 IH's. the coins were all about 8" in sandy soil. the one IH came out of the ground copper colored, the dirt surrounding it was greenish blue.
anyone ever found one that looks like this?

There are times when that happens you've got another copper coin in the hole. Assuming you thoroughly checked the hole and didn't find anything, I don't know. Sometimes you can flip a coin out with the digger and not know it. Thats just my guess.

no other coins in the hole? pulled about ten feet from the 1919 wheat that is normal looking...patina that is. when I dug it there was pieces of crusty greenish dirt in the hole, maybe something else copper that was thin and deteriorated?

I've got some deep IH's I've found underneath some cedar trees that leave something on there....but it usually not flat like that, mine are more green bumps. There's something about cedar and pines that will make changes in a coin.

this was found under pines...don't know which kind though. thanks for the help.

Bronze does this in a high pine tree area ....
