I have looked at kellyco's cataloge and I like the beachmaster water scoops with the mesh basket and reinforcment strap on the back to use your foot on . Its a galvanized scoop. I know there are aluminum ones and stainless steel. I just need something that will work well on the dry sand and the blanket line on the beach.I may get to a beach once or twice a year so not wanting to spend alot on a scoop that will be gathering dust most of the time. any opinions on the beachmaster scoops from kellyco?

I would go with the mesh basket as I have been told by others that it shifts faster than the holes especially with the wet sand. Stainless steel is heavier and works better in the sand too I have told.

http://www.rtgstore.com/ i like the # 733 from Reilly's .iv bought 3 from him and love them!

I bought mine from kellyco it's a beach brute 2 and I too needed one bad. That's the biggest one I could find and you're gonna need the biggest you can get. When it arrived from shipping it looked like it had been through a war but it works good. I needed to tape the top because the alluminium marks your hand but that's no problem.

However, in some ways it's still not big enough:):surrender:

Definitely go with the wire mesh basket. It sifts much faster on dry or damp sand than the heaver stainless steel ones with the holes. I know as I use both when I go to the beach. Mesh for blanket line and dry sand, stainless steel for wet sand and surf line.

Why not get the both of best worlds and use this one? Mesh and it's stainless steel.
