what's the dif in the xs and the exsplorer 2?.. thanks

Well when the Ex.XS was still being made you could go to ML web site and look at the diff. between the two......but now its go to the web site and see the diff. of II and SE,,,,all I know is the II will have a digital # for ferrousness and conductivity while the XS just has a digital # for conductivity of target. Also the II has a faster processor so a quicker return on threshold and target seperation...The II is made sturdier.....an improvement all around....buy a II over an XS if you are looking.....thats all I can think of tonight I am getting kinda groggy and need some sleep...hope this helps....Have a Great Thanksgiving! :goodnight:

the xs only gives conductivity number and there were concerns about weak housing problem, i read on a forum that when you powered up if the letters sep appeared briefly after minelab logo the unit was a later edition made after they corrected this problem. i contacted minelab (sandy) and she confirmed that this was the case. (mine was a later edition) i swing the xs and it's an awesome machine, a friend swings the ll and the difference in performance is minimal (i personally see no difference in performance) the ll has faster recovery but you have to swing the explorers slow anyway so for the difference in price i feel the xs is the way to go.i bought mine with sunray probe for under $500.so look around, there are some very nice deals that come along.just make sure it is a model made after they corrected weak housing problem......good luck and hh....jb
