i'm new to this site but enjoy all the info it contains. my ctx needs a new wm10 door. seeing as how it's relatively easy to do i'll just have minelab send me one. whats the best way to get hold of them

I sent an EMail to service last Wednesday concerning a battery that did not peak on the charger. I got an answer on Thursday and Friday I had a new battery via UPS. It doesn't get much better than that

Thanks Darin @ Minelab

Shoot them an e-mail is what I would do too I have always gotten timely responses from that.

Larry,
Did you put the new battery in? Did it fix your problem? The reason I ask is that I had one doing the same thing and the problem is with the WM10 voltage sensing circuitry.......the battery that was in it tested fine and worked well in my new unit. In fact, the old unit works okay, it just never shows a solid green LED light indicating a full charge........it continued to flash. The same battery does not do that in my new unit.
There seems to be a number of people having similar problems. Please respond with info about whether or not the new battery resolved your issue, as it would not have on mine.

Mine was the CTX battery pack Roland and yes, the new battery takes a full charge. The old battery pack can still be used as a backup but it will only charge to about 80%.

I broke the battery clip to mine and they sent it out, I received it in a week or two.. I e-mailed the service center. You shouldn't have any problem.
Jim

Darin was a big help to me also, but I called. Whatever you do, I wouldn't recommend using the email that pops up when you click the "contact us" option! I used that option twice because its the option that appeared when I was trying to register my warranty online, and I wrote a specific detailed email about my issue, both times all I got was a new catalog a week later! Obviously that one doesn't get read but just triggers a catalog request.

Yes it's very easy to open the WM10, and take the remaining part of the broken cover off of its metal tab then slide the new one on and seal it up again, see Roland's post about that he has some good pictures (Thanks Roland!).

Hmmm?

I emailed Minelab service Friday Jan 24th. Never heard from them.
Then sent the exact same email this past Thursday. Still no response.

INSAYIN, stand by to receive a couple of catalogs in the mail! LOL that's what happened to me. Heard nothing then get a letter with a catalog in it. Have you tried this email? This is one that was provided by minelab after I registered my machine. Its not the one I used while online on their website : service@minelabamericas.com

Yup, that is the same e-mail address I used (twice) and I did get it off of the Contact Us section of their website.

I will most likely just give them a call Wednesday morning when I'm done with work for the week, and just sit there on the phone till my call goes through.

At least, you will know when you have a real person on the line! I only had to wait about 30 minutes......just put it on speaker phone and grab a cup of coffee!

Call and leave a message. They will call you back.

Since I am waiting on a responsse from ML and not out detecting finding goodies, can I claim loss wages on my taxes? :bouncy:

Don't hold your breath waiting for the call back. You still may be better off waiting for upwards of an hour waiting for someone to actually pick up. I've owned many brands of detectors in the past 40 years, and Minelabs response/support continues to disappoint much too often. I keep buying them, so I'm part of the problem

I have always gotten a prompt and proper response from the Contact e-mail for the service department.

Bell, maybe I can get you to shoot them an email and tell them INSAYN sent ya. Let them know there are two emails somewhere in their InBox from me.

My email has INSAYN in it, so they can't miss it if they hit the "Search" function and input "INSAYN".

Thanks, you're my best bud now.

Just kidding. I will try calling them in the morning after work and just put the phone on speaker and surf the interweb while I wait for a live one to answer the phone.
Hopefully by the time they get back to me I will still remember why I contacted them in the first place. :sadwalk:

I forgot to mention when contacting them via the web you must take precautions before they can sense what you want. :wiggle:
