I dont want to go under completely -
But need it to be completly water proof

Also What's probe is the best.

I've found that most of the good stuff is just off shore.
Alot less trash
Please dont be affended Im using brand X in the last picture.
Thinking about getting a whites!!
I found four rings last weekend in 2' of water in three hours
I really want to get into water detecting.

Its easy to see Why : Make this a 360 degree view - Parker Arizona Sand Bar

Fisher makes the best in MHO. I didn't like White's surfmaster...cheesy control box that didn't look real waterproof to me...lots of rubber rings, etc....

The White's surfmaster is not a bad detector and have a looong life and finds.Get more than one opinion on any detector.
The best is to check out the detectors, like you would buy a car.
For inland lakes and ponds I would look at the fisher1280,
White's surfmaster,Tesoro tiger shark.
For salt water I would look at the PI detectors.
I made a water detector out of a whites classic detector and you can see it on www.firstontop.com.Click on the metal information page.

I personally like Whites detectors the best, you can't beat their quality and customer service. As far as a water detector goes, my favorite is the Fisher 1280X Aquanaut. I bought my wife one a few years ago and she has found coins, rings and relics at very good depth. It's a solid detector which will probably last forever.

Hey, nice r/u/a tat.

Boy, your taken a chance with that Explorer...

One slip, especially trying to scoop out a target... and you'll pay the price.

When I'm going to the beach, my main priority is Jewelry, especially those fine diamond tennis bracelets, gold chains and earrings.

Your Explorer, although using FBS technology, has a NOSE for Silver and other High Conductors, but Low Conductors start to challenge the Explorer's ability lower than Nickel. In my tests, using an optional Sun Ray 5", probably the most sensitive coil for small targets, the Explorer could not see a 6000.00 Diamond Tennis bracelet I recently recovered using a Tesoro Vaquero. Same with the Sovereign Series and My Excalibur 800... wouldn't even make a PEEP over it, even using the all metal pin point.

Those that would: Tesoro Compadre 12 kHz, Tesoro Tiger Shark 12 kHz,
White's MXT, M6, DFX with 15 kHz Selected, Tesoro Tejon 17.5 kHz.

Note: Anything above 15 kHz, Small Iron starts to become problematic.

Any of the PI or Pulse Induction Detectors would NOT respond to the aforementioned Diamond Tennis Bracelet or other samples.

I did not try a White's Beach Hunter ID which utilizes 3/15 kHz like the DFX, but unfortunately you can't select the individual frequency like the DFX can, and take FULL advantage of concentrating that voltage at 15 kHz.
